Debi contacted us late during 2015 with a view to climbing Scafell Pike during December. However, the weather had other plans for Cumbria as no doubt everyone knows about!
So a re-schedule for the trip brought us to May and with it some fine, sunny weather. We met up in Wasdale and were soon on our way, the majestic crags of Scafell beckoning us onwards & upwards.
We took the more challenging route via Mickledore. This involves a short section of scrambling to reach the col and a whole new view over to Eskdale. Here we saw runner Nicky Spinks on her way to Scafell via Broad Stand. Nicky was on her way into the record books, completing the Bob Graham double and smashing the previous record, awesome stuff and well done Nicky.

We cruised on up to the summit of Scafell Pike, took a few photos and found a quiet spot for lunch in the sun.
Our descent was via the Lingmell col route then onto Brown Tongue. Despite the mountain being busy today, much of our route felt quiet.
