A rapid ascent

Hardknott Pass
There was no time for photos on tonights 3 peaks trip to Scafell Pike. Nick and his team were on a mission to achieve the very best time they could, and they certainly weren't messing around. We were flying!

As always, I left Ambleside in plenty time to arrive in Wasdale, so thankfully did have time to stop on the Hardknott Pass and take the photo seen above. No it's not the best quality, but hopefully it does show what a glorious place Eskdale is, a beautiful drive on an early summers evening.

Having ran much of Ben Nevis, Nick and co were making impressive progress, this progress was also to be seen on Scafell Pike. We kept to a storming pace the whole time, with total stops amounting to less than 5 minutes. This resulted in an up & down time of under 3 hours and my quickest ascent of the year - let's see if we can beat it!!

And all this with gale force winds, very poor visibility above Lingmell Col meaning micro-navigation was required on the summit plateau. But thankfully, it didn't rain, yippee.

Thanks Nick, hope Snowdon was equally rapid.
