Scafell Pike Routes

We offer guided walks to Scafell Pike from the valleys of Wasdale, Borrowdale, Langdale or Eskdale.

Each valley and route has their own charms and all offer wonderful scenery.

Langdale & Borrowdale are the more accessible starting points for visitors staying in the Central Lakes area. If travelling from the south and wanting a long mountain walk we would recommend choosing the Langdale route and this starts next to The Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. If travelling from the north and wanting a longer route, we recommend the Corridor route and this starts at Seathwaite Farm in the Borrowdale valley.

Wasdale is a stunningly beautiful valley, yes even more so than the others if that’s possible. Choosing to walk from Wasdale Head will suit most as it offers the greatest flexibility and is a shorter route. We recommend this route for anyone still new to the mountain environment.

Eskdale is the esoteric choice for getting away from it all. Walking into The Great Moss being a special privilege and the scenery has a distinct 'wow' factor. Be prepared for some very challenging terrain if opting for this route.

Our guided walks up Scafell Pike can be varied to add in other nearby peaks if you would like a more challenging day. Any of the following can be added: Scafell, Great End, Broad Crag, Ill Crag, Bowfell and Esk Pike. We can tailor the day to suit.
