With numerous possibilities starting from Seathwaite, our proposed route goes via Styhead Tarn. A gentle introduction brings us to the picturesque Stockley Bridge, and from here we follow Styhead Gill all the way to the tarn of the same name. This is a natural stopping off point, to enjoy the views before we press on to join the Corridor route which crosses the tops of Greta & Piers Gills before levelling at Lingmell Col. The final ascent onto the summit plateau is in common with the route from Wasdale. 360 degree views from the summit of Scafell Pike on a clear day are dramatic and varied, with sea, mountain, lake and valley. To return we may opt for a similar route, or walk via Esk Hause. We can then either walk passed the beautiful Sprinkling Tarn or head down the pretty Ruddy Gill and Grains Gill back to Stockley Bridge.
